Yunhee Whang earned a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Boston University. She has taught English academic writing to undergraduate and graduate students as a Teaching Professor at Seoul National University (SNU) for 16 years. While teaching at SNU, she served as the Coordinator of the English Writing Center for 7 years. Since 2015, she has run Compecs Inc., an editing, translation, and consulting business, whose mission is to help authors to publish high-impact papers. She currently gives workshops on writing peer reviews and science and engineering research papers at numerous universities, research centers, and associations in Korea, such as the Korean Council of Science Editors and Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors. She has also been active in presenting papers at various biomedical conferences and publishing tutorials for scientific journal editors.
